We have had an incredible start to the letting season and are now 60% let across Newcastle (70% let in Jesmond) within only 3 weeks of us releasing our student accommodation lettings.
I have never known a year like this in the 17 years I have worked for the company and we continue to receive strong enquiries for our properties and anticipate that we should be almost fully let in Jesmond by the time most student leave for their Christmas break in Mid-December.
There has been an unbelievable demand for larger student housing, with 9 bedroom properties being in particular demand. Unfortunately due to the level of business we have seen, we now have no properties of this size left on our books and have exhausted all combinations of properties that could accommodated 9 & 8 bed lets. We still have very good properties of the highest quality in the smaller sizes however.
We would like to emphasize that we have 2 large 7 double bedroom houses on Holly Avenue, Jesmond that are finished to very high standards and also very good properties in surrounding areas, including a 7 bedroom house on Brandon Grove in Sandyford and a large 5 double bedroom house on Chester Street in Sandyford.
We would recommend that students act quick, before all our housing stock has been taken for the academic year 2014/15.
We think one of the driving factors behind this fantastic start is the financial benefit to the students in the decision by our largest Landlord to not take deposits on his houses for the new tenancies, which can save up to £400.00 on upfront costs.
